![]() ![]() ![]() Other visual differences are down to bugs in Max Damage, such as the lack of headlight shadows, or just minor tweaked settings which are mostly down to personal taste.īlood seems to be a sticking point for some people, but the assets are identical between the two games, the only real differences being that they cut the amount of particles spawned down due to Reincarnation spawning a retarded amount of them, and they brightened the colour set in CGameParameters.lol because once the renderer was fixed, the colour Reincarnation used ended up much being darker. ![]() incorrect colour space calculations, half-finished PBR shader, reflections which only rendered objects (cars, peds, etc.) which were in front of the player camera and inaccurate lighting calculations. Hopefully one day they will get around to finishing off the game's proper mod support, it's a shame they needed to do so much work elsewhere which meant mod support was constantly on the back What exactly do you mean by "patch the audio"? And which bits do you want to look like Reincarnation? Most of the visual differences between the two are pretty much down to Reincarnation's renderer being broken and incomplete, e.g. you've already finished the game) or playing multiplayer then the rest of the game is extremely moddable too, you can change an arse-tonne of stuff in the game from creating new powerups to new peds, completely redesign the UI and even make new game modes. If you're not bothered about saving your career (e.g. The game is moddable, you can create new cars and levels for it without triggering the hack protection by using CarMODgeddon mode. They did optimize the game significantly in other areas but they didn't "make it less cpu heavy" in terms of what it actually does. Max Damage makes much better use of multithreading. Reincarnation was extremely CPU heavy mainly because it wasn't making best use of multithreading. As I mentioned in the Ryzen/Vega thread they are now looking into fixing that issue and they recently released Max Damage on GoG, so they must still putting what resources they can spare in to it, it just seems very limited. They're not entirely done with the game though. But this is a small studio with very limited resources which they need to spend on what will best keep them alive and spending them on creating a lot of new content for a game which made less than what they spent making it probably doesn't fulfill the "keep them alive" requirement. With enough resources they could remake every single car and level from the old games and fix every single bug. ![]()
